Recipe of the week - Swedish Meatballs with Mushroom Gravy πŸ‘¨β€πŸ³

Ingredients:

For Meatballs:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/2 lb ground pork
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp nutmeg

For Mushroom Gravy:
- 2 cups mushrooms, sliced
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 2 cups beef or vegetable broth
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- Salt and pepper to taste

For the Vegetables:
- 2 cups carrots, sliced
- 2 cups peas, fresh or frozen

For Mashed Potatoes:
- 4 large potatoes, peeled and diced
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/2 cup milk
- Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

1. Meatballs:
- In a large bowl, combine beef, pork, breadcrumbs, milk, chopped onion, minced garlic, egg, salt, pepper, and nutmeg.
- Form small meatballs and place them on a baking sheet.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 400Β°F (200Β°C) for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.

2. Mushroom Gravy:
- In a skillet, melt butter and sautΓ© sliced mushrooms until golden brown.
- Sprinkle flour over the mushrooms, stirring continuously.
- Gradually add broth and heavy cream, stirring until the mixture thickens.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.

3. Vegetables:
- Steam or boil carrots and peas until tender.
- Drain and set aside.

4. Mashed Potatoes:
- Boil diced potatoes until tender.
- Mash with butter, milk, salt, and pepper until smooth.

5. Serve:
- Arrange meatballs on a plate, drizzle with mushroom gravy.
- Serve with a side of mashed potatoes, carrots, and peas.
