👨🍳 Recipe of the week - Tiramisu
Looking for a delicious dessert that's sure to impress your guests? Look no further than our Tiramisu recipe! Made with layers of creamy mascarpone cheese, espresso-soaked ladyfingers, and a dusting of cocoa powder, this classic Italian dessert is the perfect way to end any meal.
Ingredients:
•6 egg yolks
•3/4 cup white sugar
•2/3 cup milk
•1 1/4 cups heavy cream
•1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
•1 pound mascarpone cheese
•1/4 cup strong brewed espresso
•2 tablespoons rum
•24 ladyfingers
•cocoa powder, for dusting
▫️In a medium saucepan, whisk together the egg yolks and sugar until well combined. Whisk in the milk and cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens and coats the back of a spoon. Remove from heat and let cool to room temperature.
▫️In a large mixing bowl, beat the heavy cream and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form. In another large mixing bowl, beat the mascarpone cheese until smooth.
▫️Gently fold the cooled egg mixture into the mascarpone cheese mixture, then fold in the whipped cream.
▫️In a shallow dish, whisk together the espresso and rum. Dip each ladyfinger into the espresso mixture for a few seconds, then arrange in a single layer in the bottom of a 9x13 inch dish.
▫️Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers, then repeat with another layer of espresso-soaked ladyfingers and the remaining mascarpone mixture.
▫️Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours (or overnight) before serving.
▫️Just before serving, dust the top of the Tiramisu with cocoa powder.
