👨🍳 Recipe of the week - Beef and Broccoli
Ingredients:
▫️1 pound flank steak, thinly sliced
▫️1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
▫️3 tablespoons oyster sauce
▫️2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
▫️2 tablespoons cornstarch
▫️1 tablespoon sesame oil
▫️3 cloves garlic, minced
▫️1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
▫️1/2 cup beef broth
▫️2 tablespoons vegetable oil
▫️3 cups broccoli florets
▫️1/2 cup sliced carrots
▫️ 2 green onions, sliced
▫️Steamed rice
▫️Sesame seeds
Instructions:
1. In a medium bowl, combine soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, cornstarch, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, and beef broth. Stir well until the cornstarch is dissolved.
2. Add the sliced flank steak to the bowl and toss to coat the meat with the marinade. Allow it to marinate for about 15-20 minutes.
3. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Once the oil is hot, add the marinated beef (reserving the marinade) and stir-fry for about 2-3 minutes until the meat is browned and cooked through. Remove the beef from the skillet and set it aside.
4. In the same skillet, add the broccoli florets and sliced carrots. Stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are crisp-tender.
5. Return the cooked beef to the skillet with the vegetables. Pour in the reserved marinade and cook for an additional 2 minutes, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens and coats the beef and vegetables.
6. Sprinkle the sliced green onions over the beef and broccoli mixture and stir for another minute.
7. Remove the skillet from heat. To garnish, sprinkle sesame seeds over the dish. This will add a nutty aroma and a delightful crunch.
8. Serve the beef and broccoli over steamed rice.
Enjoy! 😋
